Okay, this is backdated a bit but I'm still on track.

Anyway, while the site is in a state of flux, does anyone have any thoughts on the new layout/UI? Or any requests?

Folks, I realize I haven't updated the site in a while but I think I've finally hit on an idea that'll keep the strips coming even when I can't spend a lot of time at the drawing board. Unfortunately, I'm also a bit short of time to implement this fabulous idea, so please excuse the mess while I try to whip everything in place over the next few days.

If anyone cares, I'll be at the Toronto Comics Arts Festival this weekend (as a visitor, not an exhibitor), blogging and tweeting the whole time. If anyone wants to meet and have a beer or something let me know.

It's time to stop fronting (or at least, stop fronting as much, since this strip is still backdated four days). On the minus side, I only completed six strips during the month of April. On the plus side, that's six more strips than I've completed in the past several years.

The big problem I have with the three laws of robotics is that in today's society the definition of "harm" is pretty extensive. I can just imagine a welding robot spontaneously deactivating itself because its very existence hurts some union worker's feelings.

Apparently I suck hard at this "keeping a schedule" thing.

Ya know, part of me wants to ask Sarah out on a date. But I'm afraid she would take the safe word as a challenge...

No, I haven't died. Yes, I am backdating these. I plan to be caught up by the end of this weekend. Hurt me if I'm not.

This strip is based on this photo and the immediate reaction of my own monstrous id. Though having "Baby Seals" come up on random play certainly helped.

I hadn't originally intended to do this as finished pencils but there was a sort of crazy energy in the third panel that I knew I'd ruin with my sloppy marker inking. Of course, it took longer to erase my construction lines and fix up the other panels than it would have to do a slop job... Still, I kinda like how it turned out.

You know, it's been so long that I've actually finished a strip that I'd forgotten how agonizing it is. I spent two hours tearing out my hair because of that first panel before realizing I was out of time and had to go with what I had. Now that it's done, it really looks like something that came out of a time capsule than something current. On the plus side it feels like a time capsule from 2003 and not one from 1998, so at least I haven't completely regressed.

Anyway, welcome to the all-new, all-deadly "Different Package." The strip (and this site) will be changing over the next several months as I get into the swing of things. I'd greatly appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, that you'd care to leave via the comment engine below.
